After several years working as a DJ, in music production and on movie soundtracks, which continue to be “a passion,” Drew Kevorkian “stumbled into” the lab animal business through a friend and has been selling to this industry for almost 15 years. “I have so many interests, and I know that helps me be a good salesman,” he says. “I can relate to my customers and have a genuine interest in what they are doing.” In 2009, he founded Ares Scientific (an acronym for Applied Research Equipment Specialists) and has built a thriving company with a very bright future. “When I started out,” he remembers, “the lab animal industry was still fairly new and growing fast.
